Fantasies & Fiestas
The Lone Star Youth Winds presents its first concert of the season on Sunday, March 5th.
Led by Youth Winds Director Andrew Trachsel, the LSYW will take us on a journey celebrating the vibrancy of Hispanic culture to stories of courage from comic books to real-life. The Youth Winds will present a premiere of a new work by Giovanni Santos honoring civil rights leader César Chávez; Fields of Gold by Julie Giroux tells the early story of Superman; and percussionists from the Lone Star Wind Orchestra will be featured in a work by UNT professor Mark Ford titled Stubernic Fantasy.
The LSYW will also perform the music of Katahj Copley, Clifton Williams, and John Philip Sousa.
