The Women’s Chorus of Dallas presents
Raise Your Voice!
Join TWCD singers (Artistic Director Melinda Imthurn) and Encore dancers from Dallas Black Dance Theatre (Artistic Director Nycole Ray) for an event you don’t want to miss! In addition to anthems by Cynthia Erivo, Artemisia, and Rosephanye Powell, the Chorus perfoms the long-awaited regional premiere of Suffrage Cantata by composer Andrea Ramsey, who will be in residence.
Details
Suffrage Cantata is a five-movement work was recently commissioned by a national consortium of women’s choruses to bring to life characters and events central to the ratification of women’s voting rights in the United States just over a hundred years ago.
Tickets $20-40, with student and senior discounts available. Lobby opens at 1:30 p.m. Concert starts 3 p.m.
Nonpartisan voter advocacy group the Dallas League of Women Voters will be on hand to provide educational materials and answer voting questions.
