Overview
Avant Chamber Ballet opens the season with ACB Unplugged at Sammons Center for the Arts. This non-traditional performance space breaks down the fourth wall and is an up-close experience with the dancers and pianist Mikhail Berestnev with three genres of ballet.
First August Bouronville’s Napoli Act 3 is a celebration of Neapolitan life and Danish ballet technique which ends with the famous, joyful tarantella. Next on the program is the return of Katie Puder’s Ragtime – a romp through the early American jazzy rhythms of Scott Joplin. Closing the program is a world premiere by Katie Puder with music by Philip Glass.
