Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet presents an all-new program of world premieres based on and inspired by works of science fiction. Cosmic Fiction features new choreography by Artist Director Emilie Skinner, Ballet Mistress Erin Boone and guest choreographers Adrián Aguirre and Michael Stone. Composers Lane Harder and Dutch Rall bring brand new original scores to the ballets to be played by SMU’s contemporary ensemble SYZYGY and a small electronic ensemble accompanied by opera singer Marissa Pyron. The program will also feature short films and visuals by 3-time Emmy award-winning filmmaker/composer Dutch Rall. Ballets include Reveir (an adaptation of Chris Marker’s La Jetée), The Afternoon of a Faun (Ballets Russes production, 1912), Beyond the Reach of Time (inspired by Arthur C. Clarke’s 2001: A Space Odyssey), Circus Alius and Quantum Connectivity.
