Cantate Domino October 13, 2018 7:30 p.m. Zion Lutheran Church
As the sacred cantata was at the heart of Baroque music, we open the 2018-19 concert series with a program of sacred cantatas by Bach, Buxtehude, Scarlatti, Charpentier, and more. Featured will be our very special countertenor Nicholas Garza, singing Bach’s solo Cantata #56, Heinrich Bach’s Ach, daß ich Wassers g’nug hätte, and Bach’s glorious Cantata #78, Jesu, der du meine Seele.

Baroque Christmas December 8, 2018 7:30 p.m. Zion Lutheran Church
Celebrate the season with music for Advent and Christmas from the Baroque period, including the works of Bach and other German composers, and their Italian and French colleagues. Come enjoy Bach’s truly elaborate and moving second version of the cantata “Nun komm der Heiden Heiland” (Cantata #62). Caroling in German will once again follow the concert.

Messiah Sing-Along December 22, 2018 7:30 p.m. Zion Lutheran Church
The audience becomes the chorus, along with the Dallas Bach Orchestra and vocal soloists, in this annual Bach Society tradition.

Handel’s Messiah December 23, 2018 7:00 p.m. Meyerson Symphony Center
The annual performance of the complete Messiah of George Frideric Handel has become a date not to be missed by music-lovers in the Metroplex, as the Dallas Bach Orchestra and Chorus, along with select vocal soloists, bring this unforgettable work to life once again in the glorious atmosphere of the Meyerson Symphony Center. Please Note – special starting time!

New Year’s Eve: Bach Favorites December 31, 2018 7:30 p.m. Zion Lutheran Church
Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, Air on the G String, Sheep may safely Graze, two Double Concertos, and the amazing Cantata #140 Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, and more – all brought together for our DBS New Year’s celebration. Ring in the new year with great music, and join us for a toast after the concert!

Apollon, La Nuit, et Comus March 19, 2019 7:30 p.m. Moody Performance Hall
The New York Baroque Dance Company joins the Bach Society for an evening of court entertainment including this brilliant work of Nicholas Bernier composed for the “Nights at Sceaux”, the palace of the Duchesse du Maine. Also featured will be the seminal work of 18th century choreographer Marie Sallé – Les Caractères de la Danse.

J.S. Bach’s Saint John Passion April 13, 2019 7:30 p.m. Zion Lutheran Church
The first of the great Passions, Bach’s most dramatic setting of the Passion story approaches opera in its emotional and dramatic intensity. With the Dallas Bach Orchestra and Chorus and noted soloists.

Paul Leenhouts, recorders November 10, 2018 8:00 House Concert
Internationally renowned and much recorded, Paul Leenhouts was a founder of the groundbreaking Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet, and has appeared as soloist and ensemble player all over Europe and the United States. He currently serves as the head of the Early Music Program at the University of North Texas.

Anna Fredericka Popova, Soprano January 26, 2019 8:00 p.m. House Concert
The talented Ms. Popova sings important arias of Handel, Bach, Purcell and Vivaldi, with Artistic Director James Richman at the harpsichord

Ha Dang, Baroque Violin May 4, 2019 8:00 p.m. House Concert
The brilliant young Vietnamese violinist plays Bach and other virtuoso works from the Baroque period.
